NO CHEMICALS IN THE MEDITERRIAN SEA
On last Sunday (27.04.14) we had a big protest in Chora Sfakion against the destruction of the chemical weapons from Syria in the Mediterrian sea…with small, middle bigger boats…fishing boats and the ferryboat alot of people joined the protest out at the sea….
A strong storm devastated the trees at the church of Agio Panteleimon ….
Like every year we had yesturday our celebration for the Oxi Day …..
Yesturday we had the first Speed Boat Races at the beautiful sfakian coast….here are the pictures … the boats run in 4 diffrent groups…boats until 200 Hp….boats from 200Hp until 300 Hp…boats until 400 Hp or with two motors….and three special race boats…..
It was a great day and lets hope that Chora Sfakion will make this every year….
On yesturday’s Saturday it was again verz windy….I have dared to go to the old harbour… it was verz loud there and already a little frightening….more happily I remained almost dry!!!!
Every year in wintertime we have such storms … and it won’t be the last for this winter…and also not the strongest one. For our luck, we have the bigger and better protecting harbour nest to the village, because such big waves surly would destroy all the boats…. in spring 1979 there was such a storm and a lot of boats have been destroyed http://www.sfakia-crete.com/sfakia-crete/public-gallery19.html
Almost exactly one year ago, on 10th of January 2012, I showed some pictures of a rainbow … and today on 8 of January 2013 again a small wonder of nature… its very cold, stormy and rainy and more up its also snowing…but down here in the morning this or these beautiful rainbows!!!!
Also in Chora Sfakion we had today the Blessing of the Seas….. the weather hold….until the end of the ceremony it was quite good…the sun shines from time to time… but after all the weather changed, big thick clouds with rain and thunderstorm…however, its january!!!
Well, this I cannot withhold from you….the first sunset 2013… I went out for fishing right into this wonderful sunset…..

The Chora Sfakion diary is actually completed with the turn of the year…unfortunately, I didn’t managed what I planned to do every day a new entry . …Family and work simply didn’t allowed it all over the year….
Perhaps I will write something in the new year from time to time, too, if here are celebrations or other beautiful happenings!
