Speedboat Races in Chora Sfakion
Yesturday we had the first Speed Boat Races at the beautiful sfakian coast….here are the pictures … the boats run in 4 diffrent groups…boats until 200 Hp….boats from 200Hp until 300 Hp…boats until 400 Hp or with two motors….and three special race boats…..
It was a great day and lets hope that Chora Sfakion will make this every year….
Thymniani Panagia
The church Thymniani Panagia is about 4 km eastern of Chora Sfakion below Komitades. the church was very important in the history and the Rebellion against the Ottoman , at 29th of May 1821 the big revolution of the Cretes again the Turks started there….. at an other day I will write some more about this history, at the end of May there will be a memorial ceremonation because of this.
Today I have been at the church and I will show you some pictures.
He is melting
The snow is melting slowly but surley … I guess it will not take very long until he is gone completly…with the southwinds the past times and all trhe sand with the wind the snow was getting quiet brown….
Feeding of the seagulls
Today morning in the harbour…. its really warm… its completly calm…. and when the fishermen arrive in the harbour und cleaning up their fishernet …mostly there is also some food for the seagulls …which they know of course…..
Agia Ekaterini
Agia Ekaterini is a church in Anopolis at the southern edge directly about 700 meters above from Loutro and because of that you have a fantsastic view … today in the afternoon we have been there and it was just great!!!
Agios Giorgos
Today is the day of Agios Giorgos, Saint George…..

The Samaria struggles with the waves…
Yesterday it was still rather stormy and in peered afternoon I saw how the Samaria ferry courageously struggles with the waves and went to Loutro…..also somebody from Loutro has dared still by his small boat courageously behind the Samaria to come in her shade also safeto Loutro….
Unfrotunatly I still have big problems with my internet connection….
