Agios Charalambos…”chronia polla”

Today on the 10th of February is the holiday of the “Agio Charalambos” ….  every year we celebrate this in the small cave church to the east of Chora Sfakion ….  ( from the church I had written on the 29th of January already …)

Early in the morning at first it is held  the church service…  afterwards we are sitting   comfortably together and it richly gives food and drinking…. fish, meat, Pilafi (rice), cheese, cake…. and of course wine!

For myself its also a very special day, because at this day, 8 years ago I got married at this cave church of Agios Charalambos ….

 

Agios Charalambos and Amoudi…

Today we went a little for walk outside from Chora Sfakion… We have been at the small chapel of Agios Charalambos…. this chapel is in a small cave directly on the coast to the east of Chora Sfakion, surrounded by small beaches…. from there we went along the coast few metres to the west until  Amoudi, a small pebble beach….. from there the small gulch again in the inland…. we needed a bit more than one hour…. it was great and  quiet…, only the wind, birds and a few sheep and goats were to be heard…. the weather is not so particularly…. is got cold… cold north wind… it is cloudy and the sky is grey…. the next days will be more worse, icy north wind will become stronger and temperatures will fall… Snow is also predicted!!
